Investing in bonds can be a confusing and complex area to get your head around. It is important to understand the different types of investment bonds in order to make the right decision when buying investment bonds.

There are three main types of bonds, which include government bonds, corporate bonds and municipal bonds. The different types of bonds are the different types signify where your money or investment will be given to.

For instance, investing in government bonds means that individuals are investing in government based companies or services such as banks or hospitals, where as corporate bonds indicates that the investment will be loaned to various corporates.
When deciding on what type of bonds to invest in, can largely depend on how much money you have to invest with.
